My Narrative Essay

The Story Of Beliefs
By:Hannah Bley

The Meeting Faze
Chapter 1

Tiptoeing down the long velvet stairs down the long red carpet to the door, then boom! The light flashes on, I jump back and turn around. “WHERE ARE YOU GOING!??!” yells King Charles I in a deep loud, voice.
“Dad, I am just going to get milk, I can’t sleep.” “You better not go anywhere. Especially to that meadow that you go to.”“You always have to be on my back.” I mumble. “Wants that?” King Yells “Nothing!” I yell with an annoyed face.Continuously, tiptoeing; I open the door and the door squeaks really loud. I look around, make sure nobody is coming and step outside. The weather is FREEZING and the wind is blowing like there is no tomorrow. I step down from the porch and I run as if I was just let out of jail. I run and run until I get to the wide open meadow. I slow down a bit and then finally stop. I look from side to side, but there isn’t anybody there. A few minutes later I see a small, tiny figure running to me yelling “HELLO! HELLO!” I am really scared and I thought that, the person was my Dad catching me enjoying the meadow.
The figure got a little closer and I see the face is a little girls face. She is holding a book in her hand. I step back because I was afraid to really take a good look. She runs over and says “Hello, what is your name?” I hesitate to answer. “Don’t be shy, my name is Julia!”“Well, my father tells me never to talk to strangers.”“Are you kidding me, I am just a little girl that did exactly what you did.”“What!!?” “You snuck out of your house didn’t you?”“How did you know?”“Just spit it out I know you did!”“Well….. okay I did sneak out.”“Yeah, I knew it, you did the same thing as me.”“Why do you come here?” I ask softly“I come here every day. This is the place I DAVEN in the morning.”“What does Daven mean?” “AW!” I gasp “I know!” I say under my breath.

The Religious Conflict
“What do you know?” says Julia in a frightened voice.I run away as far as I could, hurrying through the wind. As the wind brushes my face I turn around I see Julia running after me. I am so scared, I start believing what my Dad had told me. I have a flash back; hearing my Dad say, “Jews are the worst, stay away from them; they kill and don’t let them talk to you.” I was getting even more scared thinking that Julia is a tricking and she is going to kill me. Julia finally catches up with me and I suddenly stop.“I give up, just kill me!” I yell“What are you talking about, I want to be your friend.” “Where did you get the idea of killing!?”“I don’t know” I say in a quiet embarrassed voice.“Well then let’s become friend’s, let’s play now.”“I don’t think now is a good time; I feel sick, Bye!” I run home as fast as I could blink. I run up the porch stairs and………“FREEZE!” yells a voice. I tremble not daring to open the door. King swings the door open.“WHERE…DID…YOU…GO..!” King screams. The outside was silent and all you could hear are the crickets chirping.“I WANT AN ANSWER!” he demands.“I…I...I... was just um, outside sitting on the deck.”“Yah, Yah, Yah, Missy get in the house!!” King grabs my arm and swings me in the house. “Get to your room, you are punished!” King yells“Shh!” mom says. “You are waking up your little brother Jack.”“Do you know where your daughter was?” yells king“SHH, RELAX!!” Mom says again. “You will talk to me later.”

Declaring The Truth

I am sitting in my room reading. I feel one good angel sitting on one side of my shoulder saying to go tell my Dad the truth and another telling me to not tell my Dad because I will be punished very badly. I finally it was best to tell my Dad the truth. I walk slowly down stairs. My Dad turns around and says,”You know Julia, you are 13 years old and I can not force you to tell me the truth so it is your choice.”“Dad I have also decided to tell you the truth.”“What happen was, I snuck out of the house and went to the meadow…..”“OH, OH I KNEW IT YOU WENT THERE!!!!!!!!”“Honey, let her finish” mom says“As I was saying I met his girl at the meadows that was JEWISH!!!” I said fast, hoping he didn’t hear me.“You met WHO?”“DAD, a JEWISH girl, at first I was scared of her and then when I was in my room I was thinking I’d like to be friends with her.” A few minutes later Dad passes out!“Oh THE KING passed out; mom I think someone needs some taking care of.” I say in a rude tone. “Don’t be rude.” Mom says.

The Scary Catch
Everybody is sleeping. I get up walk down the stairs and this time I have more confidence. I open the door and run out side back to the meadow again. I see that girl Julia. She is apparently DAVENING, if that is what it is called. I try to hide behind the tree. I turn around ready to say “BOO” and behind me is my DAD!! He yells “Boo” and grabs my arm and drags me home.“But…but…but….” I try to say“No talking, this is one to many times you try to sneak out. Julia is staring at me very carefully as if she was examining me. She seems interested in my situation, I think to my-self. “You are getting punished and this time very severely! Your grandfather built you your house outside with a chain around your stomach. You will eat what you get, you will miss school and you will obey what I say. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!!!?”“YES, YES, YES I understand completely this will never happen again.”“Yes I’ll deal with next time later, let’s focus on this time.”It is now winter and days pass on. I am in bitterly cold weather and nor my Mother, Father or Brother bothered to come see how I am doing. I am very thin and weak, also my parents have been forgetting to fill my “DOG BOWL!!!” My Dad finally comes outside, to the pitch-black night and carries me inside. He begins “Your mom and I have decided to do something about this problem.” I feel very scared and shaky.“We have decided to move to Maine.” There was a moment of silence. “Um so, tell your servant to pack your clothes and we are leaving tomorrow night sharp. Be ready.”“Are you kidding me I was born here, I have grown up here, I went to school here, this is my home sweet home and I am sorry I am not moving.” I declare“Yes you are!” says dad “End of discussion.”
The Move
It is morning and I walk down to see if my parents are asleep. My Dad is awake in the kitchen eating breakfast. I say to him“You know dad I couldn’t sleep the whole night. I really think it is because…..”“ I know why it is because you were up so late crying.”“DAD, the reason is that….”“You had a nightmare.” King interrupts “Just please let me finish; so because I was thinking about moving. ““That I am NOT going to talk about, go to your room and tell your servant to pack your bags.” I walk slowly to my room and feel the tears about to pour out of my eyes. I get to my room and again tell my servant to pack my bags. All the memories of living in England come to me right now. I am so sad I can not stop crying. I say to myself “Jane, you are 13 years old and you need to calm down, everything will be fine.” Five seconds later I have an out burst and throw my clothes on the floor and stomp to my bed. I yell “EVERYTHING WILL NOT BE OKAY.”

The Meeting Faze #2 Chapter 6
I finally get to Maine and am bored to death. There is nothing to do so my Dad toldme to read. I will just pretend that I am going to read on the porch. Instead I will go to the meadow in Maine. I thought. I open the door and say “I am going to read on the porch!” there was no answer. “Oh well.” I run to the meadow trying to figure out which way it is. I finally find it and I see a girl again reading. I take a few steps back and she notices me. She says” Are you that girl, Jane?” I don’t answer her “Are you?” she says again.“Well yes I am. It is interesting in England I saw a girl that looked just like you and she was also reading. Too bad for me because I don’t remember her name.”“Was her name Julia?”“Oh yes, that’s what it was.”“Well sorry to say but I am Julia!!”“What it can’t be.” “Yes I moved from England to Maine.”“I hate you; you moved just to be with me.” I run away even more scared that she has tracked me down. I walk in the house and I run to tell my Dad surprisingly.“Dad something scary just happened.”“What?”“So Dad you know that girl from England who was Jewish!!!”“Yes” “Well Dad guess what she is here now, in Maine DAVENING in the meadows.”“There isn’t any thing I could do but persecute Julia!” Dad says “She has been following you everywhere.”“You are not going to kill someone just for their religion!” Mom demanded, “Maybe she just wants to be Jane’s friend.” “My daughter will not be friend with a Jewish girl.”“Dad please don’t kill her I am starting to like her now.”“Starting to like her, yah well you better start to not like her.”“Go to bed it is too late to talk about that now.” Says Mom“Good night” and the door closes.
Persecution
It is Sunday morning and I am on my way to Church. My Dad loves to go to Church on Sundays he is always proud to be christen and proud to show his religion. I hate going to Church because I am interested in other religions for a change. Every time my dad looks at me my face is sad looking and my dad gets so aggravated when he looks at me. I try my best to keep it in. He is the minister of the Church so he needs to be relaxed and ready for the speech. After the service I run with my baby brother to the food. Finally free from sitting in a chair. My father meets this family that looks very familiar. My dad puts out his hand to shake hands with the man and the man says “My name is Jack and my wife Rachel and my daughter Julia.” Everyone gasps.“Yah now I have a hold of you.”“Dad please don’t.”“Your daughter said she was Jewish and now you are here in a Church. What kind of people are you really? Well now I think it is time to persecute you guys.” The family starts running. “Solders go get them!” the King commands. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The people are screaming and yelling. Everyone runs out of the Church and yells for help. I get home crying hysterically because my Dad killed my friend.

Epilogue
20 years later I am married and have 5 kids. I am in the park with them telling the story of how their Grandpa killed my best friend. Five minutes later I see a lady, very beautiful with 3 kids walking to the park too. She says“Hi how are you?”“I am fine, what is your name?”“Julia.” I gasp.
“Yes I understand it is okay to gasp when ever people hear my name they gasp, it was so since I was little.“No you got it wrong; you were my friend that my dad persecuted. I thought you were killed.”“Yes, I survived my parents didn’t. Julia says with a sad voice.“I am really sorry; you don’t know how embarrassed I am. My dad was the king and he really hated Jewish people. I tried to be your friend but he always caught me being with you. I couldn’t do anything about it, sorry.”“It is okay things happen in life and even though my parents aren’t here they are still in my heart.” Julia’s eyes water up and she says “I remember the moment they died like it was yesterday.” She mumbles I am too sad to talk. I think to myself “How could my dad do such a thing? He doesn’t care but he ruined my relationship with Julia.”
